Twajali Empowerment Network (Twajali – a Swahili word meaning “we care”) is a registered non-profit organization in Kenya addressing the challenges faced by young people in informal and rural communities. Many of these youths are highly vulnerable to drugs, crime, and prostitution in their search for livelihood opportunities.

Through hospitality management offered in a 6-month residential program, Twajali equips beneficiaries with technical, entrepreneurial, and life skills using holistic and experiential learning approaches. Upon completion, participants are supported with job placements, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth. Each year, the organization trains about 60 young people, with priority given to marginalized groups such as teenage mothers, girls, and vulnerable youth from the slums

To further sustain its mission, the organization established the Twajali International Club, whose primary goal is to mobilize resources through membership from friends, partners, and supporters in order to strengthen Twajali’s programs and operations.
